Almost forty years ago Larry Swist, a rock bass player at the time, walked into a recoring studio in Rochester, NY for the first time to record with his band. Behind the console sat Mick Guzauski ...a teenager himself.
After the first take Larry walked into the control room and listened to the playback through a pair of Altec 604E monitors driven by a pair of MacIntosh 75 tube amps. He was astounded at the realism and three dimensional qualities of the sounds Mick had created. Larry then turned to Mick and asked, "How the hell did you do that?"
Nearly forty years later they are still together screwing around with audio gear in between their individual careers as audio engineers, producers or as an acoustical designer.
These monitor systems are the culmination of their desire to create the best"no compromise" and the most "exciting to listen to" near-field/mid-field system they could given the present technology available.
Pleased with the results of their labors to create such a monitor, Mick and Larry decided to form Guzauski-Swist Studio Monitor Systems, LLC in order to make these systems available to others.
